Whats up everyone, so I made a video on the DSI xl about 8 months ago and how it help up in 2016, and I totally forgot until now that I didn’t even do one this year, so lets see how this beloved console holds up in 2017.

Starting off, its a pretty thick console, it doesn’t really feel cheap, and honestly I still like the overall texture of this thing. The cameras on this are completely garbage and useless, but I guess at the time it was kind of ground breaking. you got the charging port and other buttons as well nothing crazy.

Now flipping it open. the hinge mechanism is a hit or miss. Since the hinge kind of clicks into place, I heard a lot of horror stories about how this thing can actually break itself and just end up being a lil wobbly. Luckily that hasn’t happened to me yet and I don’t think it will.

The buttons are still solid, I just noticed this but they really remind me of the buttons on the Wii. Now turning it on the first thing I still notice is that The screens are super pixelated. It’s a older console and its not that graphically intensive, but its insane that this console was one of nintendos best ones, and I can literally count the pixels on the screen.

Gaming is awesome though, there are tons of games for this thing, mario, sonic, tons of racing games, even call of duty. And if you get a flash cart, you can just throw a bunch of games on it and carry one cart with you rather than brining all your games. And they still play fairly well. I don’t think most people make games for the ds’s anymore so if you want a future proof console, this probably isn’t it. But these things are so cheap to get now, amazon I think has them for a pretty good price, ill link them in the description if your interested, but even eBay has pretty good prices on them as well.

At the end of the day, if you can get one of these for a pretty cheap price, then you probably should get it. Their still a ton of fun and can bring back a ton of memories 🙂
