The internet is an amazing place, people can record or take photos of things their passionate in and ultimately make a living off of it, and a lot of people have started picking up vlogging as well. Now a lot of people who are wanting to begin photography (or something similar) might not really have a lot of money to invest in the greatest camera in the world so we tend to get a older cheaper camera.
Actually, my first DSLR camera I ever had was a canon T2i, which was actually over 6 years old when I got it and it actually produced some of my most watched videos like my iPhone 5/5s/ and my Galaxy S4 videos, , now I actually sold that camera a couple of months ago and upgraded to a Canon T3i, I made a pretty dope video reviewing the T2i before I sold it but I freking deleted the video files and never got around editing it
So I bought the Canon T3i off eBay for about $220, it actually had a cracked glass screen, so I ordered the screen off eBay for like $3 and replaced it in like 10 minutes, it was a super simple process. The Canon T3i has a 18mp sensor, it’s capable of shooting Full HD video, and has a swivel out screen for those of you wanting to vlog like casey neistat. But don’t get ahead of yourself, this camera does not have autofocus, so if your focusing on a subject and quickly move it out of focus it will not focus back on anything, it will be super blurry. Now luckily for me the videos and photos I make don’t really require me too quickly move shots since i’m only focusing on one object. But vlogging on a DSLR camera would be almost impossible.
Now the first video I made with this camera was my iPhone 6 video, and honestly it didn’t look bad at all, actually it’s the opposite it looks pretty good, but even in that video the lighting wasn’t great but the shots still came out pretty well, I even made it in windows movie maker and I didn’t edit the footage in any way, it is completely unedited and it still looks pretty good.
This camera does not have a touch screen either, it doesn’t really bother me but I can see how some people might not want to tap buttons constantly to change settings. And the battery life of these cameras are fairly average, nothing astonishing but I really do wish they could fit bigger batteries in such a large device like these cameras.
Since it’s a dslr you’re able to interchange the lenses to get better shots, but I tend to stick with my standard canon kit lens that came in the box since I take close up shots and don’t really need a large zoom area to film my videos fortunately. And the screen that comes out really helps making the videos, so if you’re standing on the side of the camera then you’ll still be able to see the screen, now it is super easily scratched but like I said before it’s so simple to replace the screen.
Now if you’re not familiar with DSLR’s the video file sizes are huge, a simple video like my iPad mini 2 video took like 5 gigabytes worth of footage for like a 5 minute video, now granite I didn’t use all of that footage it still kind of shocks me that I spent like 30$ on this sd card dude like for real man youtube is expensive hobby to get into.
Now if you want to use this camera for simply taking photos then Yes this is a super awesome camera, it’s not that expensive, it takes great close ups and honestly this is the way I look at it if I’m like at a family gathering and I’m taking photos on it and I accidentally drop it and it breaks, yeah I’m going to be mad for a bit but since the SD card is intact and I didn’t spend that much money on it, it won’t be that big of a deal as apposed to if I were carrying around a Canon 80D or something. The picture quality on this camera is super great for the price.
And guys thats pretty much it, since this was my personal camera i’m only talking from experience so maybe for some reason you might not like this specific camera, and I would tell those people to maybe check out nikons cameras, I haven’t yet bought one yet but I might if you guys want to see that. So to conclude, if you’re in the market of getting a pretty dope camera and don’t want to spend a lot of money, get the canon T3i, you’ll be super happy you did.
PS: I love all of you guys.
