So I recently just bought a iPhone 4 like a week ago and I was just kind of curious on how this thing holds up today. Now design wise, I still think this thing is really good looking. It was prone to cracks since it had glass on both the back and the front, but it just looked so nice at the time. I remember a couple years ago in high school when all of my friends had this phone and I was so jealous. Now those guys are worthless not even doing anything with their lives. But as soon as I picked this phone up, I immediately noticed how heavy it was for its size, like, I’m pretty sure its heavier then the iPhone 5.
Looking at the bottom you have the OG charging port, this was pretty much the Tupac or Biggie Smalls of charging ports, and I was never a fan of it to be honest, and I’m glad apple changed it to a much smaller port but still, we have to give props to this charging port for giving us some memories you know?
Now this thing came with a 3.5inch screen, and in 2010 it was a pretty big deal, but now its not even usable in my opinion I think the iPhone 5’s screens pretty small. The screen wasn’t hd or anything but since it was so small the ppi was pretty high. Also the wallpaper that I’m rocking on this is on the wallpaper section so make sure to click the wallpaper button in order to see the images.
The back camera is a 5mp camera, and honestly it isn’t that bad at all, This was the same year the first samsung galaxy came out, and I think this thing outlasted the Galaxy S1.
This thing also was rocking the Apple A4 chip, which is insane because it still feels pretty smooth scrolling around the screen, but when you get to doing something other than that its pretty slow. Even clicking the assistive touch button apparently is super laggy on this thing.
It’s also running iOS 7 which I will be doing a video about later and how it stacks up today. But just the thought that this was the most powerful phone apple made at one point completely boggles my noggin.
Now Battery life is kind of surprising, in todays standards its pretty bad, but the standby time this thing has is crazy, it has better standby time than my iPhone 6, which kind of makes sense because its a more powerful device, but geez this thing surprised me. But when you start using it the battery starts to die pretty fast.
Now should the average person go out and buy an iPhone 4 for daily use? Absolutely not, it stopped getting updates on iOS 7 so not only the speed and the power of the phone are slow, but the security of this phone is super sketchy as well. I say this is for the kid in middle school, or maybe as a collectors item or something, but I would stay away from this if your planning to do actual work or if you have a job or if your left handed.
