The google pixel came out about 6 and a half months ago, so its not an old phone at all, but I do just want to take a few minutes and see how this phone is holding up so far and the overall future of it.
So to begin with, it’s gotten a few minor updates, mostly just security stuff, and performance is still super fast and responsive. I don’t know if this was just me but I feel like the fingerprint sensor became a bit faster from the few updates that it test than the fingerprint sensor the speed of the phone has stayed about the same.
Even though the screen was amoled, it hasn’t gotten any screen burn in and I feel like if you don’t purposely try to give burn in the screen, it probably won’t happen. It’s still super sharp and will be for years to come.
The camera is still super awesome, I like how the front facing camera has literally the same megapixels as my iPhone’s 6 plus back facing camera, so I should probably get a new phone. But this apparently has the best camera out of all of the smartphones out there, so if phone photos are important to you than might want to consider this.
Battery life is still somewhat average, its a 2770mah battery, and like at that point why didn’t they just do a 3,000mah battery, like if I were to design this phone that would bug me, like round up instead of doing stuff like that.
Performance and stuff is just like before, super fast and responsive, obviously if you have more apps it’ll probably be a bit slower but all in all its still super powerful.
Now heres a interesting thing, even though this phone has tons of power and speed, If I were to use this as my daily driver, I would still probably root this thing and throw a custom rom on it simply because of the added features and functionality, but be careful because a lot of roms still do not support the fingerprint sensor, but I’m pretty sure most roms do.
So all in all, this phone is still an awesome phone as suspected, I just wished it looked a little it better, I feel like this year smartphones are really going to take it up a notch, just look at the galaxy s8 and the Lg g6, I can’t wait to see what this year of phones brings.
